I feel like I’m torturing myself a little posting these up, now that the holiday is over. For our last three days in Thailand we stayed at the Hotel Novotel Rayong Rim Pae Resort. The province is about two hours out of Bangkok, and about an hour out from Pattaya. I can’t compare it to any other resorts in Thailand as this is the first I’ve been to, but for me it was relaxation paradise. The ocean is the warmest I’ve been in, warmer than Samoa and Rarotonga, and you can choose from three pools, heated mostly by the sun but a little cooler than the sea and surrounded by palm trees and lush greenery.
I loved that they had these tyres at the resort, it was a total throwback to my childhood in Raro, what a charmed life island life can be.
Sunset is best spent by the poolside bar, sipping on fresh pineapple and coconut pina-coladas.
Because of the heat, most people swim only in the mornings and late afternoons, so in between then you can explore the many sea-side, thatched roof local eateries which can serve up some of the best seafood you’ll ever eat.
