Had an amazing, relaxing time in Sydney this past weekend doing my favourite things: eating and sleeping. Went to Bondi too, but the star of the trip was definitely the food. The first night we went to Malaysian spot Mamak, there was a long line and a long wait to get in but once we were seated we were served straight away and our food was immediately on the table. Our party of 5 ordered a curry and roti each, and the staff kind of laughed at us. When the mountains of food came out we realised the reason for the chuckles, there was no way we could possibly eat it all.
The next day we headed to a cafe off Broadway, I don’t know the name
but it was just down from Dick Street (Dick Street is an easier name to remember, ha) but it’s on Abercrombie Street. Had the pancakes and fresh strawberries, and returned a couple days later to try the olive tapenade with tomato and feta, yum!
The trip ended on a high with Chat Thai in Haymarket. The boy is not a fan at all of Thai but even he was impressed, he got the snapper, I got the Larp Gai. The best of all though was the dessert. While it may not look like much in the picture, it was divine. Savoury fried donuts dipped in creamy coconut sauce, so, so, so amazing.
Thanks to Sam and Erika for all the amazing food suggestions. Thanks Sydney for being awesome, I heart you.
