If you’re ever in Bangkok, getting around on a tuk-tuk is a must do. I can’t emphasize enough how much fun it is, it’s like a roller coaster through a city with the craziest traffic in the world, and the tuk-tuk driver comes out tops in insane driving capabilites. It has the feel of a bumper cart ride as you fly across one side of your seat to other, watching as your driver weaves in and out of traffic and pushes his way into spaces you didn’t think possible. I was laughing out loud the whole way from the train station to the Grand Palace, the drive was frantic and exciting. Witnessing 5 people balance on one small motorbike, or immaculately dressed business women perch on the side of a motorbike whilst holding her phone and handbag like it ain’t no thang are also highlights you’re bound to see during a tuk-tuk ride. We travelled from Hua Lamphong Station to the Grand Palace at a cost of 150 baht, just over 6 NZD.
